General Local Election 2026
The next general local election will be held on October 17, 2026.
General local elections are held every four years across British Columbia. In Ucluelet, eligible voters elect:
- One (1) Mayor
- Four (4) Councillors
Through general local elections, residents and non-resident property electors choose the representatives who will make decisions and govern on their behalf for the next four-year term.
General local elections are a shared responsibility between local governments and Elections BC.
Elections are governed by the Local Government Act, Community Charter, and Local Elections Campaign Financing Act. The District of Ucluelet administers the local election process and appoints a Chief Election Officer to ensure it is fair, transparent, and accessible.
At the March 31, 2026 Regular Council Meeting, Council appointed Ed Chow as Chief Election Officer and Florence Pelchat as Deputy Chief Election Officer for the purpose of administering the 2026 General Local Election for the District of Ucluelet.
