Candidate Information
The District of Ucluelet is hosting a candidate information session for those considering running for office as a Mayor or Councillor in the 2026 general local election.
The information session will cover a range of topics including candidate eligibility, what to expect if elected, responsibilities of candidates during the election period, and other relevant topics for prospective candidates. The session will be led by Ed Chow, Chief Election Officer and Florence Pelchat, Deputy Chief Election Officer.
The event is being held in person and livestreamed on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the George Fraser Community Room, Ucluelet Community Center located at 500 Matterson Drive, Ucluelet. A recording of the session will be made available after the session.

The Candidate Information Session will be live-streamed on the District of Ucluelet Government YouTube Channel and the recording and slides will be made available after the session ends.

The sessions is also recorded and live-streamed to the District of Ucluelet’s YouTube Channel. Any personal information that you provide by participating in-person or as a meeting attendee, may form part of this recording.
Personal information maintained by Zoom Video Communications, Inc. and YouTube (Google LLC) may be stored on servers located outside of Canada. Personal information collected as part of the webinar recording is collected by the District under the authority of section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
