Candidate Information

Nomination Package

The Nomination Period opens on September 1, 2026, at 9:00 am, and closes on September 11, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to carefully review the nomination package. Nomination forms can be submitted via mail, email, fax or other delivery service, but prospective candidates are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer to file their nomination documents and make the solemn declaration.

Appointments are available during regular business hours throughout the nomination period and can be made by contacting elections@ucluelet.ca.

Candidates do not need to live or own property in the District of Ucluelet to run for office; however, eligibility requirements apply.

Candidate Information Session

On August 12, 2026, the District of Ucluelet hosted a candidate information session for prospective candidates interested in running for Mayor or Councillor in the 2026 General Local Election.

The session provided information on candidate eligibility, the roles and responsibilities of elected officials, election period requirements, and other topics relevant to potential candidates. The presentation was led by Ed Chow, Chief Election Officer, and Florence Pelchat, Deputy Chief Election Officer.
