Public Notice-Non-Resident Property Electors Advance Registration & List of Registered Electors

Dear Residents,

Advance Registration Deadline for Non-Resident Property Electors

The deadline for advance registration as a non-resident property elector for the 2026 General Local Election is August 25, 2026. Advance registration applies to non-resident property electors only.

Resident electors who are not on the Province’s voter list may register at the advance voting opportunity on October 7, 2026, or on General Voting Day, October 17, 2026.

Persons who meet the eligibility requirements may register in advance at the District of Ucluelet Office until this date. Advance registration will not be accepted between August 26, 2026, and October 16, 2026, but eligible electors may register on voting days.

Voting Days

  • Advance Voting: October 7, 2026
  • General Voting Day: October 17, 2026

Non-Resident Property Electors – Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election; and
  • a Canadian citizen; and
  • a resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day of registration; and
  • a registered owner of real property in District of Ucluelet for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
  • the only persons who are registered owners of the property, either as joint tenants or tenants in common, are individuals who are not holding the property in trust for a corporation or another trust; and
  • not entitled to register as a resident elector; and
  • not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election and not otherwise disqualified by law; and
  • not registered as a non-resident property elector in relation to any other parcel of real property in the District of Ucluelet; and
  • if there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, register as a non-resident property elector.

Notice of List of Registered Electors

Beginning September 1, 2026, and continuing until the close of General Voting Day on October 17, 2026, the list of registered electors will be available for public inspection at the District of Ucluelet Office, 200 Main Street, Ucluelet, BC, during regular office hours:

Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays)
8:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Persons wishing to inspect the list must sign a statement confirming that the information will only be used for purposes authorized under the Local Government Act.

Request to Omit or Obscure Personal Information

An elector may request that their address or other personal information be omitted from or obscured on the list of electors. Requests must be made to the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer.

Objection to Registration of an Elector

Objections to the registration of a person whose name appears on the list of electors may be made until 4:00 PM on September 11, 2026.

Objections must:

  • be submitted in writing;
  • be made by a person entitled to be registered as an elector in the District of Ucluelet; and
  • be based on the grounds that the individual has died or is not qualified to be registered as an elector.
