Council Compensation Review – Public Survey
The District of Ucluelet is undertaking a comprehensive review of Council remuneration to ensure that compensation and related benefits are fair, competitive, and reflective of the municipality’s size, responsibilities, and cost of living.
An external consultant has been retained to review Council compensation and benchmark Ucluelet against comparable communities. Community feedback will also be considered in developing final recommendations.
The public survey is open until January 31, 2026.

To support completion of the survey, the current Council remuneration and allowances are outlined below.

Health benefits are provided to members of Council.
Meeting Allowance (excluding regular Council meetings – 2017 Rates)

Travel and Expense Reimbursement
- Mileage is reimbursed at the per-kilometre rate set by the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Accommodation, transportation, and registration fees are reimbursed at 100% with receipts.
