Public Notice: Water Shut Off Notice-Hemlock Lift Station Replacement

Dear Residents,

This is an advance notice that on Monday, November 2nd, the water will be shut off from approximately 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM while crews re-locate a section of the watermain at the corner of Hemlock St and Lyche Rd.

Hazelwood Construction Services Inc. on behalf of the District of Ucluelet, will be doing work to the water system and will need to shut off water while upgrades are taking place. This work is part of the Hemlock Lift Station Replacement Project. The attached photo highlights the affected properties. 

Prior to this work happening, please fill up some containers with water so you are prepared for the day. Crews will endeavor to keep you in service for as long as possible and have the water back in service as quickly as possible after the initial shutdown occurs.

Please ensure that all automatic equipment, whether electrical or otherwise, is suitably protected for the shutdown. For example, we suggest you shut off your electrical switch for the hot water tank until water pressure is normal. If you have a natural gas hot water tank a protection system for the unit should already be in place and shutting off the unit is unnecessary.
