Public Notice: Sanitary Sewer Upgrades Update

The District of Ucluelet continues to work on sanitary sewer upgrades in a few crucial areas. Below are some updated timelines on this project.

• Hemlock:  Excavation at the end of Waterfront Drive is planned to resume April 27, 2026 through to the middle or end of May depending on progress. Once this is complete, the contractor will return again in July to complete electrical, commissioning, generator install, and final tie-ins.
• Big Beach:  Landscape restoration and pressure testing is planned for approximately 2 weeks starting April 27, 2026.  Once this is complete, the contractor will return again in July / August to complete the pump station work and final tie-ins.
• Helen Road: Underground pipe work on Helen Road took place during March, but was delayed due to weather.  As a result, construction could not be completed as scheduled, and is expected to resume and be completed towards the end of May 2026.

Interim surface Restoration (paving) is planned at all three locations from April 28 through May 1, 2026, and again at Hemlock and Helen towards the end of May 2026. There is currently no activity planned for the month of June while the contractor waits for equipment to arrive.
