Public Notice: Annual Hydrant Inspection, October 15 and 16, 2026

Dear Residents,

A contractor will be conducting annual hydrant inspection and flushing on private strata properties in Ucluelet on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16.

Affected areas: Deer Lane Strata (St. Jacques Blvd), Odyssey Lane, The Ridge (Marine Drive), Sunset Point, and Water’s Edge (Harbour Crescent) — with possible discoloration spreading through the broader water system, including the Marine Drive loop and downtown.

What to expect: Temporary water discoloration or sediment as hydrants are flushed.

What to do: If your water appears discolored, run your cold tap until it clears before use, and hold off on washing light-coloured laundry until clear.

This is routine, essential maintenance that keeps fire hydrants in working order for emergency response. Thanks for your patience.
