Public Notice of Tax Sale

Pursuant to Section 645 of the Local Government Act; the following properties will be offered for sale by public auction to be held in Council Chambers at the Ucluelet Community Centre, 500 Matterson Drive, Ucluelet, BC, on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:00 am, unless the delinquent taxes plus interest are paid prior to the sale.

The following notes are intended to provide a general outline of the Tax Sale Process. For complete information, prospective purchasers should consult the Local Government Act, in particular (but not limited to) Sections 645 to 672.

  • The District is required by the Local Government Act to conduct the annual Tax Sale by offering for sale by public auction each parcel of real property on which taxes have not been paid for two years prior to the current year.
  • All attendees must register as bidders and must have a Photo ID, and SIN number at time of registration. Pre-registration begins at 9:00 A.M.
  • The minimum bid is the upset price, which includes current penalties, arrears and delinquent taxes and interest, 5% tax sale costs and Land Title Office transfer fees.
  • The successful bid must be paid to the District immediately following the Tax Sale by Cash, Certified Cheque, or Bank Draft. No other form of payment is accepted.
  • The District of Ucluelet makes no representation, express or imply as to the condition or quality of the properties being offered for sale.
  • Prospective bidders are advised that it is their responsibility to search the property’s title in advance to determine if any charges are registered against the property.
  • If no bidding occurs within three calls by the auctioneer, the District is declared the purchaser at the Upset Price.
  • A Tax Sale property may be redeemed from the purchaser within 1 year of the date of the Tax Sale by the owner of property.
  • A Tax Sale will not occur if all delinquent taxes, including interest, are paid for the listed properties before 10:00 am on Monday, September28, 2026.
