Public Notice-Notice of Nomination Period
Dear Residents,
Public Notice is given to the electors of the District of Ucluelet that a general local election will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Nominations for the offices of:
Mayor (one to be elected)
for a term ending in October 2030 will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election officer as follows:

| How: | Nomination documents may be delivered by hand, by mail or by other delivery service, or by fax or email (elections@ucluelet.ca). The deadline for receiving nomination documents is 4:00 p.m., September 11, 2026. |
Councillors (four to be elected)
for a term ending in October 2030 will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election officer as follows:

Nomination documents are available in Corporate Services at the District of Ucluelet Municipal Office during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays and weekends) throughout the nomination period (9:00 a.m., September 1, 2026, to 4 p.m., September 11, 2026) and are also posted on the District’s website at ucluelet.ca
Qualifications for Office
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:
- Canadian Citizen;
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day October 17, 2025;
- Resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
- not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to or holding office, or be otherwise disqualified by law
