Public Notice: Ucluelet Business Licences-It’s Time to Renew
If you operate a business in Ucluelet, here’s a quick update: business licence renewal notices have been mailed out, and renewals are now underway for the 2026–2027 season.
All businesses operating in the District, including commercial storefronts, home-based enterprises, contractors, and non-resident services, are required to have a valid business licence to operate. Renewing your licence helps ensure local compliance and supports a vibrant, well-regulated business community.

⏰ Renewal Deadline: May 31, 2026
Please ensure your business licence is renewed by May 31, 2026 to avoid late fees and maintain compliance with municipal regulations.
Licence Fees
Licence fees have increased by 2% in line with the District of Ucluelet’s Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw No. 1316, 2022 (Schedule ‘P’).
Ways to Renew a Business Licence
Online Banking
- Add payee: Ucluelet – Business Licence
- Enter your 4-digit account number (add a leading zero if you only have three digits)
- Reference your business name if possible
In Person
- Visit us at 200 Main Street
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM-12:00 PM 1:00PM-4:00 PM (excluding holidays)
- Pay by cash, cheque, or debit
- Send cheques or money orders to:
District of Ucluelet, PO Box 999, Ucluelet, BC V0R 3A0 - Include your business name and account number
Drop Box
- Available 24/7 outside the District Office, checked during office hours
Helpful Reminders
- Business licences are valid from May 1 – April 30 each year
- Licences are non-refundable and non-transferable
- A new application is required for:
– A change in ownership
– Business relocation
– Major changes to business operations - Licences must be clearly displayed at the place of business.
- If you are no longer operating your business in Ucluelet, please inform the finance department at info@ucluelet.ca, and your business license account will be closed.
