Tsunami Advisory Cancelled for British Columbia
Effective July 30, 2025, at 7:40 AM

The tsunami advisory for the District of Ucluelet has been officially lifted.

The advisory followed a magnitude 8.8 earthquake that occurred approximately 80 miles (136 km) southeast of Petropavlovsk, Kamchatka, Russia.

There is no longer any threat to public safety, and normal activities along beaches, harbours, and shoreline areas may now safely resume.

The District of Ucluelet thanks all residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation during the advisory period.
