Highway 4 – Road Closure Notice

The District of Ucluelet would like to inform residents that the Ministry of Transportation is planning a FULL CLOSURE of Highway 4 between Chalet Road and the hump on February 25 between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The scheduled closure will be utilized to demobilize the project area near angel rock adjacent to the lake, re-align the rockfall mitigation fencing and barrier that was moved for the lane as well as clear debris behind the barrier as needed to reinstate catchment behind the fencing.

This work must be completed during the day due to the rockfall hazard that exists through the Cameron Lake area of highway 4 to ensure that the workers have a clear view of the overhead hazards to abide by necessary operating procedures.

Procedures are in place to accommodate emergency access through the work site for the duration of the closure.

Drivers are asked to obey all posted signs and direction from traffic control personnel. Be aware of roadside workers and reduce speed through the work zone. Your cooperation supports the safety of all crews working in the area.
