Peninsula Road Safety & Revitalization Project - Paving September 23 - October 7, 2024
Please be advised that the District of Ucluelet is preparing the repave Peninsula Road between Bay Street and Main Street. Hazelwood Construction Services Inc., working on behalf of the District of Ucluelet, will be mobilizing to complete the road works. To assist with construction, traffic control along Peninsula Road will be Single Lane Alternating Traffic (each side taking turns through the construction zone). Some limited driveway closures will be required while equipment works adjacent to driveway areas; access will then be restored. Access for residents and businesses within the construction area will be provided. The following schedule is anticipated for the remaining surface works:
• Asphalt Removal & Asphalt Paving (Base Lift) – Week of September 23
• Asphalt Paving (Top Lift) & Shouldering – Week of September 30
• Line Painting & Final Clean Up – Week of October 7
Every effort will be made to keep local disruptions to a minimum. Construction signs will be posted and flag people will be on duty to assist with the traffic flow. Please exercise caution, obey all signage placed for your safety and follow the directions of the flag persons on duty. If you have young children, please advise them of the dangers and limited visibility of heavy equipment and trucks.
