The District Council would like your ideas on how to improve Ucluelet's commercial corridor. The guiding objectives are to improve and support quality green space, pedestrian flow, business opportunity and the historical values of this area. We are a working community closely tied to the land and sea around us and Council recognizes the need to form our future plans in keeping with our community's authenticity. Council would like to maximize public engagement on how to spend its limited discretionary funds and how to phase the work to suite the communities priorities. This area is naturally blessed with many fantastic assets such as flora from the original Fraser gardens, amazing harbour views and access, a robust fishing and charter fleet, a one of kind Aquarium, and a unique and established commercial and services presence. This area also has some interesting constraints such as the steep Main Street and Peninsula intersection, the large trucks routes through the area and the limited RV parking in the summer. The District of Ucluelet will be holding public meetings this fall specific to Ucluelet's commercial corridor and the Village Green to further engage the community in this discussion.

Whether you are a resident or a visitor please feel free to comment below with your ideas and suggestions on how to best support our communities goals.

Your Mayor and Council
