2025 By-Election Notice of Registered Electors

List of Registered Electors The District of Ucluelet uses the Province of British Columbia Voters List as the List of Registered Electors. If your name is not on the current list, and you are an eligible elector, you may register at the advance voting opportunity or on general voting day June 28, 2025 by completing an “Application for Registration” form and providing two pieces of appropriate identification. Registration in advance of the election is not required.

Beginning May 13, 2025 until the close of general voting for the election on June 28, 2025, a copy of the list of registered electors will be available for public inspection at the District of Ucluelet Corporate Services Department during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays). Before inspecting the list, a person must sign a statement that they will not inspect the list or use the information included in the list except for election purposes (Local Government Act, Part 3 – Electors and Elections).

Request to Omit Personal Information
An elector may request that their address or other information about them be omitted from, or obscured on, the list of registered electors in order to protect their privacy or security. Written requests must be received by 4:00 p.m. May 12, 2025 by the Chief Election Officer at the District of Ucluelet, 200 Main Street Ucluelet, BC V0R 3A0.


Elector Qualifications

Resident Electors:

• 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election; and
• a Canadian citizen; and
• a resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day of registration;
• a resident of the District of Ucluelet; and
• not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election and not otherwise disqualified by law.

Non-Resident Property Electors:

• 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election; and
• a Canadian citizen; and
• a resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day of registration; and
• a registered owner of real property in District of Ucluelet for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
• the only persons who are registered owners of the property, either as joint tenants or tenants in common, are individuals who are not holding the property in trust for a corporation or another trust; and
• not entitled to register as a resident elector; and
• not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election and not otherwise disqualified by law; and
• not registered as a non-resident property elector in relation to any other parcel of real property in the District of Ucluelet; and
• if there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, register as a non-resident property elector.
