About the Program
In response to the growing demands of Ucluelet’s valued tourism sector, the District is introducing a visitor pay parking program. This initiative is intended to generate revenue that will be reinvested into the essential municipal services that support both our residents and the visitor experience.
Funds collected through the program will contribute directly to the ongoing maintenance and operation of critical community infrastructure. This includes the upkeep of water and sanitary systems, the repair and improvement of roads, sidewalks, and trails, as well as the care of public parks, playgrounds, washrooms, parking facilities, and recreation spaces.
West Coast Resident Parking
Permanent residents of the West Coast who park in Ucluelet are eligible for free parking through the Residential Parking Permit Program. To receive a permit, residents must register their vehicle and provide proof of residency—such as a driver’s licence or utility bill—along with a copy of their vehicle registration.
Registering ensures that local enforcement staff can distinguish resident vehicles from those requiring paid permits, helping you avoid unintended parking violations.
Park Anywhere – A Seamless Experience
The Ucluelet pay parking system is a universal parking program, allowing a single permit to be used across all municipally operated parking areas and along public roads. Visitors will be able to transition between locations without the need to purchase additional permits, ensuring a streamlined and convenient experience.
Parking permits can be obtained easily by either:
- Scanning a QR code displayed on signage throughout the community (no app download required), or
- Downloading the HotSpot App, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

We encourage you to attend the open house to learn more about this initiative. See you there!
