Effective 12 PM on August 28, 2024, the open burning restrictions within the District of Ucluelet will be lifted.
Although the fire danger has declined due to recent rainfall and seasonal temperatures, the public is strongly encouraged to continue exercising extreme caution with any campfire. All outdoor open burning must comply with the District of Ucluelet Bylaw No. 1288, 2021, “A Bylaw to Regulate Outdoor Burning”.
Prior to enjoying a campfire, residents are strongly encouraged to refer to the BC Air Quality Ventilation Index and to restrict all burning when the Ventilation Index is “Poor”.
