Please be advised that the District of Ucluelet is currently experiencing mechanical issues with our Imperial Lane sanitary lift station resulting in untreated discharge of black water into the habour. The lift station is located at the base of 52 Steps Warf. Please use caution and avoid entering the water in the foreshore and harbour areas immediately surrounding 52 Steps until the situation has been resolved.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, along with Emergency Management & Climate Readiness have been advised and are providing direction accordingly. Mechanical repairs and remediation of the lift station are scheduled to occur over the next few days, with the goal of having the issue resolved early next week.
