Highway 4 Cameron Bluffs Wildfire, June 20, 2023


 
All assessments are complete and work is underway to prepare the site for single lane re-opening, including danger tree removal and safety barrier installation.
 
  • Approximately 124 metres of roadside barrier has been placed.
  • Materials are on site for the concrete barrier wall to be installed.
  • Three segments of protective mesh curtain will be installed and all segments have been assembled and successfully tested.
  • There are 32 pieces of equipment on site, including four cranes and two excavators.
  • Approximately 50 people are working on site.
 
 Highway 4 is expected to reopen to single lane alternating traffic for all vehicles on June 24 -25, 2023. At the time of reopening, travelers can expect single-lane alternating traffic control with long queues for access to the single lane portions. The detour route will remain open until the highway is restored to regular capacity.
