District of Ucluelet Recycling Depot Closing on March 25, 2023
Beginning on March 25, 2023 the Ucluelet Recycling Depot, due to business decisions, will no longer be operating a satellite depot and therefore will not be accepting Recycle BC materials.
Recycle BC states “Recycle BC is committed to providing access to recycling services to the residents of the District of Ucluelet and we are working on alternative options to offer continuous recycling services for materials that are not accepted curbside in the Ucluelet area.”.
It is recommended that until a permanent solution has been established, and in the event of a service gap, Ucluelet Residents are advised to hold onto their materials until they are traveling to a neighbouring community with a depot. The closest depots to the District of Ucluelet are in Tofino, and there are two locations in Port Alberni.
Alberni Valley/ West Coast Recycling Locations/ Hours:
- Tuesdays and Fridays 10 am - 3 pm
- Tuesday to Saturday: 9 am to 4:30 pm
- Closed Sunday & Monday, and Statutory Holidays

Summer: Monday to Friday 8 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 4:30 pm
- Winter: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 4 pm
