Ucluelet BuildGreen Network
In April '08, the 1st BuildGreen event was held for the local building industry to share ideas about green building practices & to hear about new regulatory changes part of the Greening of the BC Building Code. Based on the survey results, the group indicated another event was warranted.

District Incentives and Rebates
The LiveSmart Ucluelet program is a joint venture between the the District of Ucluelet and the Provincial
government. LiveSmart is aimed at providing exisitng homes with an opportunity to reduce their carbon
footprint and impact on the environment, by providing financial assistance for energy audits,
and renovation money up to $1700.
The program has been highly successful in enrolling participants some of who have completed their renovations.
Upon the completion of all energy audits the District will release the potential carbon emission savings that have
resulted from the program.
Home owners can get independent energy audits for their homes homes and learn about means by which they
can save on money on hydro bills, and make their homes more energy efficient.
