Public Notice - Water Improvement Project
Matterson Reservoir Valving Chamber Upgrade
The District of Ucluelet will be upgrading the Matterson Reservoir Valving Chamber as part of their Capital improvements to the Community’s Water System starting November 13, 2018.
The Project will consist of removing and upgrading the aging piping for the Matterson Reservoir. This will include new valving, and a control system which will provide controlled system flows. In doing so, this new construction will improve reservoir water turn-over, resulting in better quality water.
The anticipated construction timeline, as provided by the contractor, is a project start date of November 13, 2018, with a completion date of December 6, 2018. Please note, while all measures have been taken to reduce the construction period, the Contractor’s anticipated timelines may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
During the time of construction, the reservoir will be required to be off-line. This process can result in water discoloration and changes to water system pressures. The reservoir shut down process will begin on November 13, 2018 and it is anticipated to be shut down for approximately 3 weeks.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
