NOTICE - 2018 Candidate Nomination Packages are now available!

Beginning today, July 27, 2018, candidate nomination packages will be available for pick-up for the next general local election being held on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

Candidate nomination packages are available from the Ucluelet District Office, 200 Main Street, Ucluelet, BC during regular office hours, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday until the close of the nomination period.

A person is qualified to be nominated for the office of Mayor (one to be elected) or Councillor (four to be elected) if they meet the following criteria:

  • Canadian citizen;
  • 18 years of age or older on general voting day (Saturday, October 20, 2018);
  • resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
  • not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law; and
  • nominated by at least two eligible voters in Ucluelet.

Nominations for the offices of Mayor and Councillor will be accepted beginning at 9 am on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and ending at 4 pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 (the “nomination period”). During the nomination period, nomination forms will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer at the District Office during regular office hours.
