Council Initiates Search for New CAO
Ucluelet, BC¾ The District of Ucluelet is moving in new directions as Council begins their search for a new Chief Administrative Officer. The role of a CAO is to provide for the overall management of a municipality, to ensure the policies, programs and directives of Council are implemented, and to advise and inform Council on the operation and affairs of the District.
In the coming weeks, Council will be working on preparations for the recruitment process and determining any interim measures required to continue moving community priorities and projects forward without interruption.
Dianne St Jacques, District of Ucluelet Mayor –
“We wish Andrew all the best in his new position and thank him for his time spent in Ucluelet.”
The successful applicant will replace Andrew Yeates, who has held the position since 2008. He has accepted the position of CAO at another municipality elsewhere in the province. His new position is an opportunity for him to take on new challenges and to bring him geographically closer to his family.
Andrew starts his new position on April 1, 2017, but stated that he is committed to providing any needed assistance to Mayor and Council as they start the recruiting process and to ensure an effective transition of responsibilities.
